Fatal Crash in Azle Claims the Life of 65-Year-Old William Morgan

AZLE, Texas — Authorities are investigating a deadly two-vehicle crash that occurred late Saturday morning in the 1800 block of FM 730 North in Azle.

According to the Azle Police Department, the crash happened just before 11 a.m. and involved a Ford F-250 pickup truck and a Mitsubishi Outlander. When officers arrived on the scene, both vehicles had sustained significant damage.

A preliminary investigation revealed that the Ford was traveling southbound while the Mitsubishi was traveling northbound on FM 730 N. Police say the Mitsubishi attempted to use the center lane to make a left turn when it collided with the Ford in the southbound lane.

The driver of the Mitsubishi, identified as 65-year-old William Morgan of Newark, Texas, was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the Ford was not hurt, though a passenger in the pickup truck was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.

The Azle Police Department and the Tarrant County Traffic Investigation Unit are jointly investigating the incident to determine the exact cause of the crash.
