Motorcyclist Killed in Tragic Collision on Havendale Boulevard in Auburndale

AUBURNDALE, Fla — A 36-year-old Haines City man was killed Sunday evening following a devastating crash between a motorcycle and an SUV on Havendale Boulevard, according to the Auburndale Police Department.

Authorities reported that the collision occurred around 7 p.m. at the intersection of Havendale Boulevard and 42nd Street Northwest. Investigators determined that the SUV, driven by 52-year-old William Jesus Santana, was heading west on Havendale Boulevard in the left-turn lane when it began turning south onto 42nd Street. During the turn, the SUV crossed into the path of a green Kawasaki motorcycle driven by Jeremy Clayton Lee Varney of Haines City, who was traveling east in the center lane.

The motorcycle struck the rear passenger side of the SUV, ejecting Varney from his bike. Despite immediate efforts from emergency responders, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Santana, the SUV’s driver, was not injured in the crash.
