Springdale Man Identified in Fatal Motorcycle Crash on I-49

SPRINGDALE, Ark. — A weekend motorcycle crash on Interstate 49 has claimed the life of 69-year-old James Price, a longtime Springdale resident, according to a report from the Arkansas State Police.

Authorities say the accident occurred around 3:25 p.m. on Saturday, October 12, 2025, near mile marker 70. Price was traveling north on I-49 when a tragic mechanical failure caused the crash. Investigators reported that a piece of luggage attached to the back of his motorcycle became entangled in the rear wheel, causing the bike to lose control and skid across the roadway before landing on its right side.

Emergency personnel quickly responded to the scene, and Price was transported to a Fayetteville hospital for treatment. Despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries a short time later.

State police noted that weather and road conditions were clear and dry at the time of the crash, and no other vehicles were involved.

The accident remains under investigation as authorities review the events leading up to the tragic loss.

Friends and community members are remembering James Price as a kind, hardworking man with a passion for motorcycles and the open road—a life cut short by an unfortunate and unforeseen accident.
