A tragic accident in Perry County on Tuesday morning claimed the life of 29-year-old Andrew Maxwell. According to the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP), the fatal crash occurred around 8:30 a.m. along Highway 412.
Investigators reported that Maxwell was driving a dump truck eastbound when he failed to negotiate a curve. The vehicle veered off course, overturned, and came to rest in the roadway. Despite the swift response from emergency crews, Maxwell was pronounced dead at the scene.
The THP’s preliminary report indicates that Maxwell was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash. No other vehicles were involved, and there were no additional injuries reported.
Highway 412 was shut down for several hours as law enforcement officers and first responders worked to clear the scene and conduct a detailed investigation. Traffic was rerouted around the area while crews worked to remove the overturned vehicle and debris.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. The Perry County community is mourning the loss of Andrew Maxwell, whose untimely passing serves as a somber reminder of the importance of roadway safety.
