BATON ROUGE, La. — Authorities are investigating a deadly shooting that claimed the life of 29-year-old Marvin Tolliver at a local barbershop Wednesday evening.
According to the East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office, the fatal shooting occurred at Fade District Barbershop, located off Greenwell Springs Road, shortly after 6:30 p.m. Baton Rouge Police officers responded to reports of gunfire around 6:33 p.m. and arrived to find Tolliver suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Footage from the scene showed multiple bullet holes in the shop’s front windows, evidence of the violence that unfolded in what is typically a bustling neighborhood business. Police have not released any details regarding a motive or possible suspects at this time.
The Baton Rouge Police Department continues to investigate and urges anyone with information to come forward to assist in identifying those responsible.
