KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Missouri State Highway Patrol is investigating the death of Timothy Harris, who was killed in a crash early Thursday morning outside the Ford plant in Claycomo.
According to investigators, the crash occurred just before 6 a.m. on U.S. 69 Highway near Grove Street and involved a motorcycle and a car. Preliminary findings show that Harris was traveling eastbound on his motorcycle when a westbound car attempted to make a left turn into a parking lot. The motorcycle collided with the vehicle, and Harris was thrown from the bike.
Emergency responders arrived quickly, but Harris was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the car remained on-site and cooperated with authorities. No additional injuries were reported.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol and Clay County law enforcement are working to determine the factors that led to the collision, including speed and visibility conditions at the time.
As the investigation continues, officials are reminding drivers to use caution when turning across traffic and to stay alert for motorcycles, particularly during early morning commutes.
Timothy Harris’s death remains under investigation, and further updates will be released as more information becomes available.
