POINSETT COUNTY, Ark — Tragedy struck in Harrisburg on Monday afternoon, October 13, 2025, when 20-year-old Lillian Caraway of Waldenburg lost her life in a single-vehicle crash along Highway 163 South.
According to a preliminary fatal crash report from the Arkansas State Police, the accident occurred around 12:00 p.m. in the 7700 block of Highway 163. Authorities say Caraway was driving her 2007 GMC Yukon northbound when the vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway, striking a tree before catching fire.
Emergency responders arrived on the scene, but despite their efforts, Caraway was pronounced deceased due to injuries sustained in the crash. She was the sole occupant of the vehicle.
The roadway was temporarily closed as investigators and cleanup crews worked at the scene. Weather conditions were reported to be clear and dry at the time of the crash.
The Arkansas State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident.
Caraway’s sudden passing has left the Waldenburg community heartbroken. Known for her kind spirit and warm smile, she will be remembered fondly by family, friends, and all who knew her. Her loss is a painful reminder of how fragile life can be and the importance of cherishing every moment.
