RANDOLPH COUNTY, Ark — A tragic crash early Saturday morning claimed the life of a Maynard woman and left two others injured, according to the Arkansas State Police.
The collision occurred around 1:25 a.m. on State Highway 115 at Mockingbird Road. Authorities say Ann Davis, of Maynard, was killed when her vehicle was struck head-on by another car that crossed into her lane.
Investigators reported that Brandon McCall, of Pocahontas, was driving southbound when he veered across the center line into oncoming traffic, colliding directly with Davis’s vehicle. The impact caused Davis’s car to overturn.
McCall’s passenger, Ryan Atkinson, of Walnut Ridge, was also injured in the crash. Both McCall and Atkinson were transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Officials noted that weather was clear and road conditions were dry at the time of the crash.
The Arkansas State Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision.
