LUBBOCK COUNTY, Texas — A tragic single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning near the southbound frontage road of IH-27 in New Deal claimed the life of a young Amarillo man.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Wyatt Reese Golden, 20, was traveling southbound when he veered off the left side of the road. In an attempt to correct his vehicle, he oversteered, causing it to roll over. Emergency responders arrived quickly, but Golden was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Authorities noted that road conditions were clear at the time, and Golden was not wearing a seatbelt. No other vehicles were involved, and the incident remains under investigation as DPS works to determine all contributing factors.
