NORTH AMITYVILLE, N.Y. — A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a 17-year-old at a North Amityville residence, police said Saturday.

Authorities responded to a 911 call reporting a man with a gunshot wound at 9 Francine Avenue. Upon arrival, officers found Robin Moscoso-Hernandez, 17, of Bethpage, who had sustained a gunshot injury. Moscoso-Hernandez was transported to a hospital in West Islip, where he was pronounced dead.

Police identified Bryan Ventura-Ramirez, 20, a resident of the home where the shooting occurred, as the suspect. Ventura-Ramirez has been charged with manslaughter and criminal possession of a firearm. He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Central Islip.

Authorities have not released details regarding the events leading up to the shooting. The investigation remains ongoing as detectives work to piece together the circumstances surrounding this tragic incident.

The North Amityville community has been left reeling from the loss of Moscoso-Hernandez, a young life cut short. Police are urging anyone with information about the incident to contact the Suffolk County Police Department to assist with the ongoing investigation.
