NORTHPORT, Ala. — Authorities are investigating a tragic single-vehicle accident that claimed the life of 20-year-old McKenzie Miller of St. Clair County early Tuesday morning. The crash occurred at approximately 1:37 a.m. on October 21, 2025, in the 4900 block of Alabama Highway 69.

Responding officers found Miller’s vehicle heavily damaged shortly after receiving the emergency call. Despite immediate efforts from first responders, Miller was pronounced dead at the scene. Police have not released additional details about the circumstances, but the Northport Police Department’s Traffic Reconstruction Unit is conducting a thorough investigation, examining factors such as road conditions, vehicle performance, and other environmental elements.

In a statement, the Northport Police Department extended condolences to Miller’s family: “Our thoughts are with the family and loved ones affected by this tragic event. We are committed to uncovering the facts and understanding how this happened.”

Residents near the area reported seeing emergency vehicles and police lights in the early morning hours. Many described the roadway as challenging, particularly at night, and expressed sympathy for Miller’s family. The roadway was temporarily closed for evidence collection and vehicle analysis but has since reopened.
