WOODBURY, CT — A woman from Waterbury was killed in a multi-vehicle crash that closed part of Route 64 in Woodbury on Monday morning.
Connecticut State Police identified the victim as 34-year-old Marvia Neveta Morrison.
According to investigators, the crash happened around 8 a.m. when the driver of a Volkswagen Passat traveling east on Route 64 crossed the center line near Old Sherman Hill Road and hit Morrison’s vehicle head-on. The impact caused two other westbound vehicles — an Audi A4 and a Toyota Camry — to collide as well.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene and pronounced Morrison dead. The driver of the Volkswagen suffered non-life-threatening injuries, while the Audi and Toyota drivers were not seriously hurt.
The Connecticut Department of Transportation reported that Route 64 was shut down at Old Woodbury Road for several hours while police investigated.
Troopers are still working to determine what caused the Passat to cross into the opposite lane. They are asking anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has dash camera footage from the area to contact Connecticut State Police Troop L at 860-626-7900.
The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
