BREAKING NEWS: Double Homicide Investigation Underway in Fulton County

FULTON COUNTY, Ark. — Authorities are actively investigating a double homicide that occurred in the Agnos area of Fulton County between October 20 and 21, according to law enforcement officials.

The Arkansas State Police and the Sharp County Sheriff’s Office have issued a statewide Be on the Lookout (BOLO) and officer safety warning for Jacob Lowell J. Smith, 32, who has been named a person of interest in the case. Smith is also wanted on a statewide extradition warrant for absconding and violating probation and parole conditions in Arkansas.

Sheriff Shane Russell of Sharp County confirmed that the alert was first issued early Tuesday in the interest of public and officer safety. The BOLO was later upgraded after the warrant was officially entered.

Investigators say the bodies of two females were discovered on October 21 at one of the victims’ homes in Agnos. The victims’ names have not yet been released pending official identification and notification of family. Both bodies have been transported to the Arkansas State Crime Laboratory for autopsy.

Authorities are searching for a 2004 red Dodge Ram 1500 pickup with Arkansas license plate BEH-93R, reportedly stolen from the homicide scene. Two firearms were also taken — a Sears pump-action shotgun with a painted black wooden stock and a Charter Arms .38 Special revolver.

Smith, described as a white male, 6’2”, 165 pounds, with a tattoo of a bow tie on his neck and other facial tattoos, should be considered armed and extremely dangerous. He was last booked on September 30 in Van Buren County for possession of a controlled substance and has an extensive criminal history dating back to 2017.

Authorities urge anyone who sees Smith or the stolen vehicle to avoid contact and immediately call 911 or the Arkansas State Police.

The investigation remains open and ongoing. Additional details will be released once Fulton County Sheriff Jake Smith provides an official statement.
