MANCHESTER, England — A young woman who was tragically found dead at a city centre flat has been named as 20-year-old Kadey Anglin.
Emergency services were called to an address on Grosvenor Street, off Oxford Road, in the early hours of Thursday, October 16, following reports of a concern for welfare. Upon arrival, police discovered Ms. Anglin unresponsive. Despite efforts from paramedics, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police (GMP) confirmed that a file has been passed to Manchester Coroners’ Court, and an inquest into her death will be opened in due course. Officers have launched an investigation, with inquiries still ongoing.
Three people were arrested at the scene in connection with alleged drug supply and have since been released on bail pending further investigation. Police have not confirmed whether the arrests are directly linked to Ms. Anglin’s death.
Kadey Anglin was a member of staff at Gorilla, a popular Manchester city centre venue. Management expressed their devastation in a statement, saying:
“We can confirm that in the early hours of Thursday morning, a team member from our Gorilla venue tragically passed away in an apartment on Grosvenor Street. We do not have any detailed information as to what occurred at this time, and it would be inappropriate for us to comment further whilst there is an ongoing police investigation.”
Her close friend Emily Walker paid tribute, describing Kadey as “the funniest, craziest, coolest, most caring person that any of us will ever have the pleasure of knowing.”
Ms. Anglin’s passing has left friends, colleagues, and loved ones heartbroken, with many remembering her as a bright and joyful presence who brought laughter and love to everyone she met.
Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding her death.
