CHISAGO CITY, Minn. — Authorities are investigating a tragic early-morning crash that claimed the life of 15-year-old Jax Zarn and left several other teenagers seriously injured. The incident occurred around 1:58 a.m. near Stacy Trail and Ivywood Trail in Chisago City, according to the Lakes Area Police Department.
Police said the crash involved a head-on collision between two vehicles. A 2014 Toyota Camry carrying a 14-year-old driver and two 15-year-old passengers collided with a 2000 Toyota 4Runner driven by a 17-year-old with an 18-year-old passenger.
Tragically, Jax Zarn, a 15-year-old passenger in the Camry, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other two occupants of the Camry sustained serious injuries, with one requiring air transport to a hospital. In the 4Runner, the driver suffered life-threatening injuries and was flown to a hospital, while the passenger was taken by ambulance. Their current conditions have not been released.
Authorities noted that alcohol was discovered near the crash scene and may have been a contributing factor in the collision.
