ETOWAH COUNTY, Ala. — A tragic multi-vehicle crash on October 19 claimed the life of a 22-year-old woman and left four others injured in Etowah County.

Authorities identified the deceased as Amber N. Lee of Blountsville. Lee was a passenger in a Toyota Camry when it was struck by a pickup truck. Following the initial collision, the Camry was hit again by a second pickup.

The driver of the Camry was injured and transported to UAB Hospital, along with a 1-year-old passenger who was also hospitalized. The driver of the first pickup involved in the crash was taken to UAB Hospital, while a passenger from the second pickup was treated at Gadsden Regional Hospital.

The crash occurred on U.S. 278 near mile marker 120, approximately five miles west of Attalla. Investigators from the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s Highway Patrol Division continue to examine the scene to determine the circumstances that led to the tragic accident.

This devastating incident serves as a reminder for motorists to exercise caution, particularly on busy highways, to help prevent such tragedies.
