ST. LOUIS — Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that claimed the life of a 32-year-old man early Sunday morning in south St. Louis.
According to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, officers responded to reports of a shooting around 12:20 a.m. on October 26 in the 2800 block of Gasconade Street. When officers arrived, they found the victim, identified as 32-year-old Stanley Scott, suffering from gunshot wounds and critically injured.
Witnesses at the scene were reportedly attempting to render aid before officers arrived. Police immediately joined in providing life-saving efforts until emergency medical personnel arrived.
Scott was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Homicide detectives have taken over the investigation and are working to determine what led to the shooting. Authorities have not released any information about potential suspects or a possible motive at this time.
