NASHVILLE, Tenn. — A devastating overnight crash in Nashville has claimed the lives of four teenagers, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD).

The fatal collision occurred around 12:45 a.m. Sunday on Mt. View Road near Asheford Trace, involving an Infiniti G37 and a Jeep Renegade. Investigators say the Infiniti was traveling southbound at a high rate of speed when it crossed partially into the northbound lane and collided head-on with the Jeep.

Three passengers in the Infiniti — 19-year-old Maximos Ibrahim, 17-year-old Raafat Nassif, both of Nashville, and 19-year-old David Fakhory of Nolensville — tragically lost their lives as a result of the crash.

The driver of the Infiniti, 17-year-old Kerlos Toma of Murfreesboro, was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with critical injuries, where he later succumbed to his wounds.

The 24-year-old driver of the Jeep Renegade was also taken to Vanderbilt with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

According to MNPD, no one in either vehicle was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision. Evidence from the scene indicates the Infiniti was partially in the oncoming lane when the impact occurred.

Authorities continue to investigate the exact circumstances leading up to the crash, including vehicle positions and possible contributing factors such as speed and driver behavior.

This heartbreaking tragedy has left two Middle Tennessee communities — Nashville and Murfreesboro — mourning the loss of four young lives taken far too soon.
