SAINT GEORGE, S.C. — The community is mourning the tragic loss of Samuel Dantzler, 20, of Harleyville, and Brianna Wiles, 23, of Round O, who both died in a Sunday morning collision on US-15, south of Saint George.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, Dantzler was driving a Chevrolet truck southbound when the vehicle ran off the side of the roadway and struck a tree. Samuel Dantzler was pronounced deceased at the scene, while Brianna Wiles, the passenger, was transported to Trident Medical Center, where she later succumbed to her injuries.

Authorities from the South Carolina Highway Patrol and the Dorchester County Coroner’s Office are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident to determine contributing factors. At this time, no additional details have been released.
