James, 42, passed away on Monday evening, October 27, 2025, following a tragic accident in Porter Township, Cass County.
The crash occurred around 6 p.m. near the intersection of U.S. 12 and M-217. According to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office, James was driving eastbound in his Jeep when he lost control and crossed the center line, striking the back of a westbound pickup truck towing a trailer. Despite the quick efforts of emergency responders, James was pronounced dead at the scene. The other driver was unharmed.
