PLYMOUTH, Indiana — The community of Plymouth is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 77-year-old Richard Louzon, who tragically lost his life in a fatal crash Tuesday morning on U.S. 30 near the Queen Road intersection.
According to the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department, Richard was driving his Chevrolet pickup truck southbound on Queen Road when his vehicle was struck by a Coleman tractor-trailer driven by 61-year-old Nicolae Pavel, who reportedly failed to stop for a red light. The impact was severe, leaving Richard fatally injured. Despite the swift response from emergency personnel, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
A passenger in Richard’s vehicle, 20-year-old Katelynn Pekofske of Walkerton, was critically injured in the collision. She was airlifted to Memorial Hospital in South Bend, where she continues to receive medical care.
Family and friends describe Richard as a kindhearted, hardworking, and humble man who always put others before himself.
