WALDORF, Md. — A wave of grief has spread through the Waldorf community following a fatal shooting early Wednesday morning that claimed the life of 31-year-old Charles Arlando Hamilton and left another victim critically injured.
According to the Charles County Sheriff’s Office, officers were called to the 2000 block of Smallwood Drive around 12:14 a.m. on October 29 after reports of gunfire echoed through the area. When officers arrived, they found two people suffering from gunshot wounds near a parked vehicle.
Despite life-saving efforts, Charles Hamilton was pronounced dead at the scene. The second victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, where they continue to fight for their life.
