21-Year-Old Eric Torres Killed in Pueblo’s Second Early-Morning Shooting
PUEBLO, Colo. (November 1, 2025) — Heartbreak once again grips the Pueblo community after a second early-morning shooting claimed the life of 21-year-old Eric Torres, marking the city’s 12th homicide of the year, just minutes after its 11th.
At approximately 2:49 a.m., Pueblo Police were alerted by a ShotSpotter notification of 27 rounds fired along West 13th Street, in a residential neighborhood near El Pueblo Pride Park. Around the same time, dispatchers received calls reporting that two people had been shot.
When officers arrived, they found two victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were rushed to a nearby hospital. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Eric Torres succumbed to his injuries at 10:20 a.m. The Pueblo County Coroner confirmed his identity and notified his family. Torres, a Pueblo resident, was only 21 years old — a young life cut short far too soon.
The second victim remains hospitalized in stable condition.
Police say no suspects have been identified, though preliminary evidence suggests the attack was targeted. Officers spent the morning combing through the scene, gathering shell casings, and interviewing residents in hopes of piecing together what led to the deadly gunfire.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. Those with tips can contact the Pueblo Police Department or remain anonymous by calling Pueblo Crime Stoppers at (719) 542-STOP (7867).
As the investigation continues, the community mourns the loss of Eric Torres — a beloved son, friend, and neighbor remembered for his kindness and bright spirit. His passing marks yet another painful reminder of the growing toll of violence in Pueblo, leaving loved ones searching for justice and peace.
