A tragic accident in Baldwin County early Saturday morning has claimed the life of Scott Garrett McKee, 41, of Bay Minette. The collision occurred around 4:45 a.m. on Baldwin County 138 and involved multiple vehicles, leaving the community in shock.

According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, McKee was driving a 2007 Volkswagen Passat when he struck a 2024 Nissan Frontier driven by 25-year-old Noel Diaz Alzolay of Spanish Fort. Following the initial impact, McKee’s vehicle collided head-on with a 2007 Chevrolet C1500 pickup driven by 61-year-old Gregory Jackson Cobb of Greenville. The Frontier then left the roadway, striking a sign, an embankment, and a tree before coming to rest.

Troopers confirmed that McKee was not wearing a seat belt and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Cobb was injured in the crash and transported to USA Hospital in Mobile for treatment.

The crash occurred roughly one mile west of Bay Minette, and authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding this fatal accident. No further details have been released at this time.
