LINCOLN, Neb. — The Hall County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal crash that occurred Monday morning near Doniphan, resulting in the death of 31-year-old Sabian Salais of Hastings.

According to authorities, the incident took place just after 6:30 a.m. at the intersection of Highway 281 and West Binfield Road. Investigators reported that a 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee, driven by Salais, was traveling north on Highway 281 when it struck the rear of a 2020 Peterbilt semi-trailer.

Emergency responders transported Salais to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The driver of the semi-trailer was not injured in the collision.

Authorities have confirmed that the cause of the crash is still under investigation, and additional details have not yet been released.
