Rockford, Ill. — The community is mourning the loss of 49-year-old Bradley Acaley of Mount Morris, who tragically lost his life in a single-vehicle rollover crash early Saturday morning at the intersection of South Main and Prairie Road.

According to the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and emergency crews responded to the scene around 2:30 a.m. after receiving reports of a vehicle crash with an individual trapped inside. When Blackhawk and New Milford Fire Departments arrived, they found the car approximately 85 feet off the roadway.

First responders worked swiftly to free Acaley from the vehicle, but despite their best efforts, he had sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. Authorities confirmed that Acaley was the sole occupant of the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Investigators determined that Acaley had been driving southbound on Prairie Road when he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the road and overturn. The Winnebago County Coroner’s Office later reported that the cause of death was blunt trauma to the head.

The crash remains under investigation as authorities work to determine the factors that may have contributed to the incident.

Family, friends, and community members are remembering Bradley as a kindhearted and hardworking man whose warmth and good nature touched the lives of those who knew him. His sudden passing has left a deep void in the Mount Morris and Rockford areas, where he was cherished by many.

Local officials extended their condolences to the Acaley family, expressing gratitude to the emergency crews who responded to the tragic scene.
