LANCASTER COUNTY, Pa. — The community is mourning the heartbreaking loss of 15-year-old Paige Dowlin, who tragically passed away after a fire consumed the recreational vehicle she called home early Monday morning.
According to the Lancaster County Coroner’s Office, Paige, a bright and beloved student at Pequea Valley High School, died from smoke inhalation and thermal burns. Her death has been ruled accidental.
Emergency crews were called to Roamer’s Retreat Campground on the 5000 block of Lincoln Highway in Kinzers around 4 a.m. When first responders arrived, the camper was engulfed in flames. Sadly, Paige was unable to escape.
Her brother shared on social media that Paige was inside with her 17-year-old sister when the fire broke out. The older sister managed to get out safely, but Paige was tragically trapped inside.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
In the wake of the tragedy, a cousin has launched an online fundraiser to help cover funeral expenses and support the family as they recover from the devastating loss of their home, belongings, and two cherished cats.
Paige will be remembered for her warm heart, radiant smile, and the love she shared with everyone around her. Her passing leaves a deep void in the hearts of her family, friends, and the entire Pequea Valley community.
Gone far too soon, Paige’s memory will forever live on in the love she gave and the light she brought to those who knew her.
