CARROLLTON, Ga — A violent altercation along 6th Street in Carrollton early Sunday morning ended in tragedy, leaving one woman dead and two others injured. The Carrollton Police Department has identified the deceased victim as 26-year-old Lareon Brown, a resident of Carrollton.

Authorities say the shooting happened around 1:30 a.m., when officers were called to reports of a fight that had erupted into gunfire. When police arrived, they found three people suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite emergency efforts, Brown was pronounced dead at the scene.

Another victim was taken to an Atlanta-area hospital by ambulance, while a third person was driven to a hospital in a private vehicle. Their conditions have not been released.

Investigators are still working to determine what led to the fight and who was involved. As of now, no suspects have been identified, and police have not announced any arrests. It remains unclear whether the shooting was targeted or if the victims were known to one another.

Detectives are reviewing possible surveillance footage and gathering witness statements to piece together the sequence of events that led to the deadly encounter.

The Carrollton Police Department is urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

“Even the smallest detail could help bring justice for Lareon and answers for her family,” authorities said in a statement.
