CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — The Corpus Christi community is mourning the loss of 35-year-old Brodrick Johnson, who tragically died in a pedestrian accident Monday morning on Saratoga Boulevard. The Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office confirmed Johnson’s identity following the incident.

According to the Corpus Christi Police Department, officers were dispatched around 4:49 a.m. to the 3900 block of Saratoga Boulevard after reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. First responders found Johnson in the roadway and immediately provided emergency medical care before transporting him to a local hospital. Despite their efforts, Johnson succumbed to his injuries, leaving family, friends, and the community devastated.

Investigators reported that Johnson had crossed Saratoga Boulevard outside of a marked crosswalk, where he was struck by a westbound vehicle. The driver involved remained at the scene and is fully cooperating with authorities.

Traffic near Weber Road and Saratoga Boulevard was temporarily closed while the Corpus Christi Police Traffic Division conducted a thorough investigation and processed the scene. The roadway reopened at 8:30 a.m. after evidence collection was completed.

Senior Officer Antonio Contreras of CCPD emphasized the importance of pedestrian safety, urging residents to exercise caution when crossing streets, especially in areas without crosswalks or pedestrian signals.
