It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we share the passing of Maria Zavala-Tinoco, age 40, of Reading, Pennsylvania, who tragically lost her life in a pedestrian accident early Tuesday morning, November 4, 2025, along Route 222 near Dries Road in Ontelaunee Township.

According to authorities, Maria was attempting to cross the highway around 4:55 a.m. when she was struck by a tractor-trailer and then by another northbound vehicle. Emergency crews arrived quickly, but despite their best efforts, Maria was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Her sudden passing has left an immense void in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who knew her. Maria will be remembered as a loving mother, daughter, and friend — a woman whose kindness, compassion, and strength touched countless lives. She was known for her bright smile, her unwavering love for her family, and her gift for bringing warmth and comfort to everyone she met.

As her loved ones grieve this unimaginable loss, the community of Reading stands beside them in love, prayer, and support. Maria’s memory will live on forever in the hearts of those blessed to have known her.
