Hesterville, MS — Authorities have confirmed a tragic accident that claimed the life of Bobby Ray Edwards, 74, of Kosciusko, Mississippi. The fatal one-vehicle crash occurred on Hwy 35 North near Attala Rd. 3120 in the Hesterville area.

First responders were dispatched to the scene after reports of a vehicle leaving the roadway and striking a tree. Upon arrival, emergency personnel found Edwards unresponsive and trapped inside his vehicle. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by Attala County Coroner Sam Bell. The vehicle was extricated by Attala County firefighters.

Preliminary reports indicate that the cause of the crash is unknown, though some on-scene observers have speculated that a possible medical emergency may have contributed.
