Beverly, Massachusetts – Authorities have identified the two individuals found dead in an apparent murder-suicide inside a Beverly home earlier this week. The Essex County District Attorney’s Office confirmed the victims as Becky Lynn Center, 58, and John Patrick Nesbitt, 56, both of Beverly.

Police responded to a residence on Colonial Drive around 9:40 p.m. Monday after receiving reports of gunfire. When officers arrived, they discovered both Center and Nesbitt suffering from gunshot wounds. The pair were pronounced dead at the scene.

Video from the scene showed the quiet North Shore neighborhood surrounded by police tape, with several cruisers parked outside and lights illuminating the home as investigators worked late into the night.

Neighbors described the incident as shocking and heartbreaking. “I am horrified. This neighborhood is a quiet neighborhood, and I’m heartsick over it,” one resident told Boston 25 News. “I can’t believe this happened here. My heart goes out to the family.”

Officials have not released additional details about the circumstances surrounding the deaths, but investigators believe no one else was involved. The case remains under investigation by the Beverly Police Department and the Essex County District Attorney’s Office.

The community mourns the tragic loss of two lives and extends heartfelt condolences to the families and friends affected by this devastating event.
