RENO, Nev. — The community is mourning the tragic loss of 19-year-old Hunter N. Goodbear of Fallon, who died after being struck during a sideshow on Sunday, November 2. Goodbear was pronounced dead at Renown Regional Medical Center on Tuesday, according to the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

The Medical Examiner’s Office determined the manner of death to be an accident, with the cause listed as complications from multiple blunt force injuries sustained in a pedestrian-sedan collision.

Reno Police, with assistance from the Tri-Net Task Force and MAIT Investigators, located a suspect vehicle—a white Lexus IS300—in Fallon late on November 5. Authorities have also identified a person of interest believed to be involved in the crash. The investigation remains ongoing.

The deadly crash occurred around 1:30 a.m. at the intersection of Riggins Court and Meadowood Lane. Police reported that several vehicles were driving recklessly in front of a crowd during what is commonly known as a “sideshow,” and the vehicle involved fled the scene.

Reno Police are urging anyone with information about the crash or the vehicle to contact the Reno Police Department non-emergency line at 775-334-2677 or submit tips to Secret Witness at 775-322-4900 or via secretwitness.com. A $1,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest.

Hunter Goodbear’s passing is a heartbreaking reminder of the dangers of reckless driving. Friends, family, and community members continue to grieve the loss of a young life taken far too soon.
