Evergreen, Alabama — Authorities are investigating a deadly crash that claimed the life of 32-year-old Austin Brown of Cantonment, Florida, late Friday night on Interstate 65 near the 93-mile marker in Conecuh County.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), the collision occurred around 9:30 p.m. when a southbound Hyundai Tucson, driven by Brown, collided with the trailer of a southbound tractor-trailer rig. The truck driver was not injured.
Emergency crews responded quickly, but despite efforts to save him, Brown was pronounced deceased at the scene. His body will be transported to the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences in Mobile for an autopsy.
The Conecuh County Coroner’s Office confirmed that Brown’s family has been notified. The ALEA Highway Patrol Division continues to investigate the cause of the crash.
