BIRMINGHAM, Ala — The Birmingham Police Department is conducting an active investigation into the shooting death of 30-year-old Anson Quandarius Henderson, who was tragically killed on Saturday morning, November 8, 2025, in the Collegeville neighborhood.
According to authorities, around 10:14 a.m., officers from the North Precinct were dispatched to a domestic disturbance call in the 3200 block of 32nd Street North. While en route, officers observed a vehicle speeding away from the area and conducted a traffic stop, suspecting it was connected to the call.
Moments later, the incident was updated to report a person shot. When officers arrived at the residence, they found Anson Henderson lying unresponsive on the porch. Birmingham Fire and Rescue responded but tragically pronounced Henderson dead at the scene.
Investigators believe the shooting stemmed from a domestic altercation earlier that morning between Henderson and his child’s mother. After the argument ended, she reportedly left the location. Soon after, another vehicle arrived, and the suspect fired multiple shots, striking Henderson before fleeing the scene.
The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim and notified his family. The suspect’s identity has not yet been released, and no arrests have been made at this time.
Birmingham Police say the case remains active and ongoing, with detectives working diligently to gather evidence and identify all parties involved. Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact BPD Homicide Detectives at 205-254-1764 or Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777 to remain anonymous.
