NEW YORK, N.Y — The Fire Department of the City of New York is deeply saddened to announce the line-of-duty death of Firefighter Patrick Brady, a dedicated and beloved member of the department who faithfully served the city for more than a decade.
On Saturday, November 8, 2025, Firefighter Brady, 42, suffered a cardiac arrest while working on the roof of a fire at 9407 Kings Highway in Brooklyn. Fellow firefighters and EMS members rushed to his aid, performing life-saving measures before he was transported to Brookdale University Hospital Medical Center, where he tragically passed away.
Firefighter Brady began his FDNY career on July 14, 2014, proudly graduating from the Fire Academy and joining Engine 227 in Brooklyn. In 2022, he transferred to Ladder 120, where his strong work ethic, courage, and brotherhood left a lasting impression on everyone around him.
Commissioner Robert S. Tucker expressed the Department’s heartfelt condolences, saying:
“Firefighter Brady dedicated his life to protecting others. He served this city with honor, bravery, and unwavering commitment. His loss is a profound reminder of the sacrifices our firefighters make every day.”
