BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Birmingham Police Department is actively investigating a deadly shooting that claimed the life of 31-year-old Jeremiah Stone late Saturday night in the city’s Powderly neighborhood.
According to officials, officers responded around 11:20 p.m. on November 8, 2025, to the 1800 block of Henry Crumpton Drive after receiving reports of a person shot. Upon arrival, officers found Jeremiah Stone lying unresponsive in the roadway, suffering from a gunshot wound. Birmingham Fire and Rescue responded to the scene and pronounced him deceased.
Investigators later learned that a second victim had also been shot and was located in the 2500 block of John Bryant Road. That individual was transported to UAB Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Preliminary reports suggest that both victims were traveling together in a vehicle when someone opened fire on them. Detectives are working to determine the motive and whether the shooting stemmed from a dispute that occurred earlier in the day.
At this time, no arrests have been made, and police are urging anyone with information to contact Birmingham Police Homicide Detectives at 205-254-1764 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers at 205-254-7777.
