TUCSON, Ariz. — A violent confrontation late Monday night has left one man dead and a woman hospitalized after a double shooting that spanned a residence and a nearby restaurant on Tucson’s west side.
According to the Tucson Police Department (TPD), on November 10, 2025, at approximately 11:00 p.m., officers from Operations Division West and personnel from the Tucson Fire Department (TFD) responded to reports of a shooting in the 2200 block of West Ironwood Hill Drive.
When officers arrived at a residence in the area, they found a female victim suffering from gunshot wounds. She was treated at the scene by TFD and transported to a local hospital for further medical care.
At a nearby restaurant, officers located a male victim—identified as 34-year-old Casey Sheehan Kneisel—with apparent gunshot trauma. Sadly, Kneisel was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Investigation and Arrest
Homicide detectives and members of the Crime Scene Unit responded to both locations to begin their investigation. Preliminary findings revealed that a confrontation had taken place between the suspect and the two victims at the residence, which escalated into gunfire.
Both victims were struck during the initial shooting. The injured Mr. Kneisel fled to a nearby restaurant seeking help, but the suspect followed him and opened fire again inside the restaurant before fleeing the scene.
A coordinated search by responding officers led to the swift location and capture of the suspect, identified as 35-year-old Philip Michael Chambers Jr.
Chambers has been booked into the Pima County Jail and charged with:
- First-Degree Murder
- Misconduct Involving Weapons (Prohibited Possessor)
- Two Counts of Aggravated Assault (Domestic Violence)
The investigation remains active, and police say additional details may be released as they become available.
As part of the Safe City Initiative, the Tucson Police Department continues to employ data-driven strategies and community partnerships to help prevent violent crime and enhance public safety throughout the city.
