ARLINGTON, Texas — The Arlington community is mourning the tragic loss of Bre’Asia Simone, a woman from Cedar Hill, Texas, after a deadly shooting on westbound I-20 near Bowman Springs Road left her dead and an adult male injured on Wednesday evening. The incident, which occurred around 7:40 p.m., has left friends, family, and neighbors grappling with the heartbreak of this senseless violence.
According to the Arlington Police Department, officers responded to a 911 call at a gas station in the 4900 block of Little Road, where a man reported he had been shot. Upon arrival, police discovered the adult male with apparent gunshot wounds inside his vehicle and found Bre’Asia Simone unresponsive. She was rushed to a nearby hospital, but tragically, she was pronounced dead. Preliminary reports suggest that Bre’Asia may have been pregnant at the time, intensifying the sorrow surrounding her passing.
Two children were also in the vehicle during the shooting and were transported to Medical City Arlington as a precaution. The adult male driver sustained injuries but is expected to survive.
