COAHOMA COUNTY, Miss. — A tragic accident has claimed the life of 59-year-old Willie Frank Page, a well-known resident of Farrell, Mississippi, after he became trapped beneath a piece of farming equipment on Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Coahoma County Fire Department, the incident occurred around 4:38 p.m. near Moon Lake Road. When first responders arrived, they found Page trapped beneath a cotton harvester. Fire crews, along with local wrecker services and maintenance technicians, worked urgently to free him. Despite their efforts, the Coahoma County Coroner’s Office pronounced Page dead at the scene.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Page, an employee of Coahoma Tire Shop, had been performing maintenance on the cotton harvester and was in the process of replacing a tire when the equipment slipped off the supporting blocks, pinning him underneath.
The Coahoma County Fire Department expressed heartfelt condolences to Page’s family, friends, and coworkers.
“We extend our deepest condolences to the victim’s family and loved ones during this challenging time,” the department said in a statement. “We also commend the dedication of all first responders and supporting agencies who provided assistance at the scene.”
The Coahoma County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has been notified and is assisting with the ongoing investigation, which is being classified as a workplace fatality.
