Hamilton, NJ — A 47-year-old woman from Hamilton tragically lost her life in a four-vehicle crash that also left seven others injured on Tuesday, July 8, according to local authorities.
The incident occurred at approximately 5:48 p.m. at the intersection of Nottingham Way and Donald Drive, near the entrance to the Walmart shopping center, the Hamilton Township Police Division reported.
Investigators say a Toyota Camry, facing eastbound on Nottingham Way, was stopped in the intersection as it waited to turn left into the shopping center. While attempting the turn, the Camry was struck on the passenger side by a 2014 Chrysler 300 traveling westbound.
The force of the collision caused the Camry to veer into the exit lane of the shopping center, where it collided with two additional vehicles that had been stopped at the time, police said.
A total of seven people were transported to a nearby hospital. The Hamilton woman, who was seated in the rear of the Toyota Camry, was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Her identity has not yet been released pending family notification.
All other individuals involved in the crash sustained varying degrees of injuries and were treated and stabilized, police said.
The Hamilton Police Traffic Unit continues to investigate the incident. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the department.
