HEMET, Calif. — Authorities have identified the motorcyclist killed in a crash involving a Hemet Fire Department truck on Friday night.
The collision happened around 8:36 p.m. at Chambers Avenue and State Street, according to the Hemet Police Department. Responding officers determined that a small motorcycle collided with a Hemet Fire Department engine. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, the rider was pronounced dead at the scene.
The California Highway Patrol has taken over the investigation. The victim was identified Saturday as 38-year-old Joseph Cobb of Hemet.
