MERCER COUNTY, Ohio — A tragic crash on Sunday evening claimed the life of Timothy Betts, 45, of Ada. The incident occurred around 5:30 p.m. on U.S. Route 127 at the intersection with State Route 274, according to the Mercer County Sheriff’s Office.

Officials report that Roger Brockman, 70, of Coldwater, was traveling south on U.S. Route 127 in a 2010 Ford pickup and attempted to turn east onto SR 274. Emergency responders, including the Chickasaw Fire Department, St. Henry Squad, and MCERV, assisted at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation and will be forwarded to the Mercer County Prosecutor’s Office for review. Authorities urge anyone with information regarding the incident to come forward.

This tragic loss is a reminder of the dangers of the road and the importance of following traffic laws and wearing protective gear.
