BOLIVAR COUNTY, Miss. — The Bolivar County community is mourning after a fatal pedestrian crash early Sunday morning claimed the life of 34-year-old Edward M. Triplett of Clarksdale.
Mississippi Highway Patrol officers responded to the incident at approximately 5 a.m. on August 31 along U.S. Highway 61 near Duncan. Authorities reported that a 2018 Dodge Charger, driven northbound by 22-year-old De’Anthony Brown of Alligator, MS, struck Triplett. Emergency responders transported Triplett to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. Brown did not sustain any injuries in the crash.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol confirmed that the incident remains under active investigation. At this time, officials have not released additional information regarding contributing factors such as speed, visibility, or roadway conditions.
