HIGH POINT, N.C. – A 20-year-old High Point man has been identified as the victim in a fatal shooting on East Lexington Avenue.

Police say Tresor Shukura, 20, was found in the roadway outside a home on September 1. Despite emergency efforts, he died at the scene.

Investigators believe Shukura was shot during an argument with an 18-year-old acquaintance. That suspect later arrived at a local hospital with gunshot wounds of his own after being driven there in a private vehicle. He is in serious condition and under police custody. Authorities said once he is released from the hospital, he will be charged with first-degree murder. His name will be released once the arrest warrant is officially served.

Detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit confirmed that all people involved in the case have been identified, and more charges could follow as the investigation continues.

“This was not a random act,” investigators noted, adding that there is no broader threat to the community.
