CHADBOURN, N.C. — A North Carolina community is reeling after a tragic house fire early Saturday claimed the lives of four young sisters, aged 2 to 7. The fire broke out around 2:30 a.m. at a home on North Colony Road, about a mile northeast of Chadbourn, while no adults were present, Columbus County Fire Marshal Shannon Blackman confirmed.

Two 12-year-old girls, including another sister, managed to escape and call 911, bringing emergency responders to the scene within seven minutes. Despite the quick response, the home was already engulfed in flames, and first responders were unable to save the girls trapped inside.

In the wake of the tragedy, two local residents have created a GoFundMe to support the family, sharing the heartbreaking news with the community. “It is with heavy hearts that we share the devastating loss of Kendall, Kalani, Josie, and Sophia,” the fundraiser states. “These beautiful souls brought immense joy and love to their family and all who knew them.”

The family’s older daughter, Winter, survived but has lost her four sisters in this tragedy. The fundraiser seeks to provide comfort and relief to the family during this unimaginable time.
