CARBONDALE, Ill. — A tragic single-vehicle crash claimed the life of a 20-year-old Anna man on Saturday evening in Carbondale.
The accident occurred at approximately 6:57 p.m. on August 30 in the 800 block of East Walnut Street. According to police, the rider, identified as Raiden D. Webster, was traveling eastbound when his motorcycle struck a curb. The impact caused him to be thrown from the bike.
First responders arrived quickly on the scene and performed life-saving measures before Webster was transported by ambulance to a local emergency room. Despite their efforts, he was later pronounced deceased.
Authorities confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in the crash. The incident remains under investigation by the Carbondale Police Department.
Family, friends, and the Anna community are now mourning the sudden loss of Webster, remembering him as a young man whose life was cut tragically short.
