MACON, Ga. — The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in locating a suspect connected to a deadly shooting outside a Family Dollar store on Jeffersonville Road Tuesday afternoon.

At approximately 4:40 p.m., Macon-Bibb E-911 received reports of gunfire at the store’s parking lot at 3656 Jeffersonville Road. Deputies arrived to find a 56-year-old woman unresponsive inside a Nissan Rogue. Chief Deputy Coroner Lonnie Miley confirmed she died at the scene. A 79-year-old man, also in the vehicle, was critically injured and transported to a hospital.

Investigators say the shooting may have followed an altercation related to a prior vehicle collision. No other injuries were reported.

The suspect has been identified as 43-year-old Catrell Tywan Ford. Authorities describe him as a Black male, bald, approximately 5’6” tall, weighing around 190 pounds. Ford was last seen near Lancing Lane and is considered armed and dangerous.

Authorities urge anyone who spots Ford not to approach him and to immediately call 911.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the incident, and further details will be released as they become available.
