TELFORD, Tenn. — Authorities have identified the two people who lost their lives in a tragic weekend crash on Highway 11-E in front of Grandview School.
According to Washington County Sheriff Keith Sexton, the victims were David L. Doty and his wife, Donna K. Doty, both residents of Chuckey.
Deputies said David Doty died at the scene of the crash, which occurred around 2 p.m. Saturday. His wife, Donna, was transported to a local hospital along with the driver of the other vehicle involved. Sadly, Donna Doty later succumbed to her injuries at the hospital. The other driver is expected to recover.
Both the northbound and southbound lanes of Highway 11-E were closed for approximately three hours as emergency crews responded, cleared the scene, and investigators worked to piece together the events that led to the collision.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the cause of the fatal wreck.
