MALVERN, Pa. — A tragic accident Tuesday morning has claimed the life of a Malvern Preparatory School student in West Bradford Township.
The victim, whose name and age have not been released, was riding in a vehicle when a deer entered the roadway on Downingtown Pike/Route 322, east of Romig Road. According to Pennsylvania State Police, the deer was struck by an eastbound vehicle, then propelled into the westbound lanes, where it landed on the windshield of the car carrying the student.
The boy was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. Officials confirmed that the vehicle initially involved — believed to be a black Toyota Sienna with heavy front-end damage — left the scene. Authorities are asking anyone with information to contact Pennsylvania State Police in Embreeville at 610-486-6280.
In a heartfelt statement, Dr. Patrick Sillup, Head of School at Malvern Preparatory School, confirmed the devastating loss:
“I can confirm that we have experienced the loss of a member of our student body. This loss is a profound tragedy that has impacted our students, faculty, staff, and community. Out of respect for this young man and his family, we will not be sharing additional details at this time.
